Amazing Animals

@ Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture

Location

Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture

4331 Memorial Way NE, Seattle

Sunday, November 12, 10 am – 5 pm

We've combined two of our most popular annual events—Bug Blast and Meet the Mammals—into an amazing day of fuzzy, slimy, cuddly and crawly fun! See hundreds of specimens from the Burke’s entomology and mammal collections, and hear from experts about all sorts of amazing animals that roam the earth!

Activities include:

  • Cooking shows with the Bug Chef at 11 am, 12:30 pm & 2pm
  • Meet and pet two friendly ponies from Seattle Pony Party 10:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • See live reptiles from the Woodland Park Zoo 3–5 pm
  • Touch live bugs like tarantulas and cockroaches—if you dare!
  • Solve mysteries in an animal-themed scavenger hunt
  • Check out mammal headgear, such as massive antlers and horns
  • See beautifully-preserved butterflies and talk to experts from the Washington Butterfly Association
  • Examine the variety of ways mammals move—from bats that soar in the sky, to the mammals that swim in our oceans
  • Animal-inspired crafts, face painting, balloon animals and more!
  • Please arrive at your ticket time to guarantee admission. There is a 30-minute grace period for event admission. Ticket holders who arrive outside of the grace period will be admitted as building capacity allows.
